Today was the most intense travel day of our trip. We woke up in Prague, and had a 10:45am flight back to Milan. We flew Wizz Air again, and I was happy with the service.
Once in Milan, we rented an Audi A4 Hatchback. It was time for a roadtrip! The first stop was a grocery store in Milan to pick up smoked meat, cheese, arugula and fresh baguettes so that we could make a sandwich.
The streets of Milan are congested, but it opens up once you hit the highways. The speed limit is 130 km/h! We were going to spend the day in Como, a picturesque lake-side town an hour away from Milan.
We reached Como around 4pm and spent the evening walking around the waterfront.
Como is known as a popular wedding and honeymoon destination, and I can see why. The sunset was gorgeous.
I grabbed an Italian coffee by the lake and chilled out by myself for a while.
After sunset, we all went to a restaurant near the water for some pizza and pasta. It was a little on the expensive side, but the ambiance was nice.
After dusk, we continued our drive up north towards Grindelwald. We were going to spend the next day in Switzerland. I drove in the dark and noticed the silhouette of the Swiss Alps around me.
It was a great drive. Switzerland has amazing roads, and some really long tunnels. The longest one that I drove through was 18km long. Here’s a short timelapse of the night drive.
We got into the hotel at 2am. We only had half a day in Switzerland, so I knew I wasn’t going to get much sleep.
